ORGANIC WHOLE BROWN RICE FLOUR 500g

In the 16th century, the brown rice (Oryza Sativa L.) was introduced by the Portuguese settlers in the States of Bahia and Maranhão. It has become the “rice of the land”.
Native from Asia, the brown rice came from Cape Verde Islands to the northeast of Brazil. Later, it was replaced by Carolino rice, and its consume migrated to micro regions of the backwoods, mainly around the state of Paraíba. Its rusticity and high quality has provided a richer range of food for generations.
Fazenda Tamanduá, in partnership with EMBRAPA Meio-Norte, has decided to grow this noble and historical rice variety, using the biodynamic cultivation system, due to its nutritional value and uniqueness.

Original from India, Fazenda Tamanduá’s black rice is one of the products from the partnership with EMBRAPA Meio-Norte. This variety has adapted very well to semi-arid climate regions in Brazil.
