Institute Fazenda Tamanduá

This institute seeks to develop technologies adapted to the Brazilian semi-arid climate in particular. It has started its activities growing spirulina and chlorella for biodiesel production tests. It has also led the Jatropha curcas’ genetic improvement research in order to produce a non-toxic compound.
They have also carried out field studies of Calotropis procera for forage production, nutrient cycling and hummus recomposition. Also, the Moringa oleifera and Cnidoscolus quercifolius forrage tests.
